Questions

Frequently asked questions

We collected what people ask most often. We answer honestly, even when the answer is not the nicest one.

I do not know the language at all. Which course should I start with?

With A1 - it is designed for a complete beginner. We start with the alphabet and sounds; by the end of the course you introduce yourself, ask everyday questions and understand simple speech. We still run a free placement test first: sometimes school knowledge turns out to be stronger than people expect.

How long does it take to start speaking?

With two or three lessons a week and homework done, a basic conversational level (A2) takes 6-8 months. Confident communication on work topics (B1-B2) takes one and a half to two years. No school does it faster, and promising otherwise would be dishonest.

What if I miss a lesson?

A missed lesson can be made up in a parallel group of the same level - the schedule is in the student area. The materials and homework for that lesson are there as well.

Do you offer one-to-one lessons?

Yes, but we say it honestly: for speaking practice a group works better and costs less. One-to-one lessons make sense for a narrow goal - interview preparation, specialised vocabulary, urgent exam preparation.

How do I pay for the studies?

Monthly: cash at the academy, by card, by transfer, via MBank or Optima. Receipts and payment history are kept in the student area. Pay for three months at once and get 10% off, university students get 15%.

Do you issue a certificate?

After each level we issue an academy certificate stating the CEFR level and the number of hours. It is an internal school document. International certificates (IELTS, TOPIK, HSK) are issued only by official exam centres - we prepare you for them.
